Strong and noisy exhalation (voluntary or reflex) which clears the air ducts from abnormally present materials. Cough is a sign of respiratory impairment. It is often an involuntary reflex due to the irritation of the internal surfaces of the trachea and bronchi.
Expiration forte et bruyante, volontaire ou réflexe, qui débarrasse les conduits aériens de matières anormalement présentes. La toux est un signe d'atteinte respiratoire. C'est souvent un réflexe involontaire dû à l'irritation des surfaces internes de la trachée et des bronches.
