L’entérite hémorragique proliférative ou iléite est l’une des maladies digestives contagieuses les plus fréquentes affectant le porc en croissance. Lawsonia intracellularis, une bactérie intracellulaire obligatoire a été identifiée comme agent de la maladie. L’iléite est caractérisée par un épaississement de la muqueuse intestinale et par une prolifération adénomateuse des cryptes des entérocytes infectés par Lawsonia intracellularis.
Proliferative hemorrhagic enteritis or ileitis is one of the most common contagious digestive diseases affecting growing pigs. Lawsonia intracellularis, obligate intracellular bacterium has been identified as the agent of the disease. Ileitis is characterized by thickening of the intestinal lining and adenomatous proliferation of the crypts of enterocytes infected with Lawsonia intracellularis.
