myxomatosis (rabbit)
Infectious disease, extremely contagious, that only affects rabbits (wild and domestic rabbits), extremely rare among hares, transmitted by skin or mucous membranes (mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, birds, direct route), common in summer, caused by a poxvirus, myxomatous virus or Sanarelli virus (different from rabbit pox, rabbit pox virus), myxoma virus (MYXV) of the genus Leporipoxvirus from the poxvirids (Poxviridae) family.
Maladie infectieuse, extrêmement contagieuse, spéciale aux lapins (lapins sauvages et domestiques), exceptionnelle chez le lièvre, transmise par voie cutanée ou muqueuse (moustiques, tiques, puces, oiseaux, voie directe), fréquente l'été, due à un poxvirus, le virus myxomateux ou virus de Sanarelli (différent du rabbit pox, virus de la variole du lapin), le myxoma virus (MYXV) du genre Leporipoxvirus de la fam. des poxviridés (Poxviridae).
