Disease that can be caused by a vitamin D nutritional deficiency or by an inherited genetic abnormality that prevents the body from metabolizing vitamin D properly. This causes bone fragility (lack of calcification) and a growth defect in young animals.

Maladie qui peut être causée par une carence nutritionnelle en vitamine D ou par une anomalie génétique héréditaire empêchant la métabolisation correcte de celle-ci par l'organisme. Cela provoque une fragilité des os par défaut de calcification et un défaut de croissance chez les jeunes.
