In mammals, release of an organ or part of an organ (often bowls) by the umbilical ring which is not totally closed at birth. This condition is usually benign, except in case of ischemia of herniated organs that may necrotize.

Chez les mammifères, sortie d'un organe ou d'une partie d'organe (souvent les intestins) par l'anneau ombilical qui n'est pas totalement refermé à la naissance, faisant protrusion sous la peau. Cette affection est généralement bégnine, saus en cas d'ischémie des organes herniés qui peuvent nécroser.
