ACE activity level
An angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity measurement measures the ACE activity in the blood. ACE mediates extracellular volume by participation in the renin-angiotensin system and is a therefore target for ACE inhibitors which aim to reduce blood pressure. Variants in the ACE gene are associated with ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, tubular dygenesis and microvascular complications of diabetes.
