An e-selectin measurement is the quantification of e-selectin typically measured in serum. E-selectin is a cell adhesion molecule expressed only on endothelial cells activated by cytokines. Like other selectins, it plays an important part in inflammation. In humans. It is also used as a cancer biomarker.
