A leading cause of inflammatory eye disease is sarcoidosis. Ocular sarcoidosis can involve any part of the eye, and may cause uveitis, scleritis, eyelid abnormalities, conjunctival granuloma, optic neuropathy, lacrimal gland enlargement and orbital inflammation.
