In most mammals the canal remains open, and the testis can pass from the scrotum to the abdominal cavity. In humans the canal closes after testicular descent[DOI:10.1046/j.1469-7580.2002.00087.x], In tammar wallabies, closes between days 50 and 60 pp[DOI:10.1046/j.1469-7580.2002.00087.x]
