Human NACC2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 9q34.3 and is approximately 89 kb in length. This allele, which encodes nucleus accumbens-associated protein 2, is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation. A fusion of this gene and the NTRK2 gene may be associated with non-cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma. [ ]
