E1 Ubiquitin-Activating Enzyme
- E1 Ubiquitin-Activating Enzyme
- EC 6.2.1.45
- EC 6.3.2.19, Formerly
- Ubiquitin-Activating Enzyme
The IUBMB has recategorized E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes and E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases as transferases (EC 2), and E1 enzymes have had their designation changed from EC 6.3.2.19 to EC 6.2.1.45. Thus, E1, E2 and E3 enzymes may be considered part of a ubiquitin ligase complex, but only E1 enzymes are categorized as ligases (EC 6).
