Go to external page http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/NCIT_C2841

A class of vaccines with potential antineoplastic activity. Peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) are first harvested from a cancer patient and induced to express a particular tumor-associated antigen or multiple antigens. Autologous vaccination with activated PBL may stimulate the host immune system to produce antibodies and/or mount a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells positive for the antigen(s), resulting in decreased tumor growth.
